31 Creation CAPTURING THE HEART WITH A LITTLE JUMP A chocolate bunny with a red ribbon, small bell, and wrapped in gold – this can only be the Lindt Gold Bunny. Nowadays, every child and adult is familiar with it. It has adorned almost every Easter nest for generations and is a must for every family. It began its enchanting triumph in Europe, heading over to the US and South America, and is now even known in Asia. With more than 160 million of them sold in over 60 countries, nothing can stand in the way of its success. The beginnings The Gold Bunny first saw the light of day in 1952. The story goes that one spring morning, a Master Choco- latier was watching a small bunny in his garden. His young son was completely mesmerized when he saw the little bunny but began to cry as soon as it disappeared into the bushes. The father then had a brilliant idea: “I should make a bunny like that one out of chocolate ...” He crafted a bunny from the finest milk chocolate, wrapped it in a golden foil and tied a golden bell on a red ribbon around its neck so it would not get lost. “When the bell rings, you can easily find it,” he said to his young son. And so, the very first Gold Bunny was born. A magical variety Now almost 70 years old, it is still as young as the day it was born. It delights chocolate lovers all over the world not only in its golden look but also in animal print, the limited flower edition, and the enchanting Hawaii design and serves as the centrepiece of every Easter nest. The Gold Bunny in figures The Gold Bunny with its soft-tinkling bell on its red ribbon is one of the most charming examples of delicate Lindt chocolate. Since 1952, it has been hard to imagine Easter without it, and children are not the only ones it enchants. A 100 -gram Gold Bunny is brought to life in 45 minutes. The fit of every golden wrapper is checked with gloves and its distinctive char- acteristic, the little bell on the ribbon, is put on by hand. Every large Gold Bunny, weighing 1 kilogram, is polished individually with soft gloves, which gives it its shine. The golden wrapper and the ribbon with a little bell are also applied by hand. The Gold Bunny delights consumers in 4 delicious types of choco- late, from milk chocolate and white choco- late to dark chocolate and hazelnut, and hops into the Easter nest in 6 sizes.
